With convention on our heels, we are invited to join Massachusetts Jersey Cattle Club on March 2, 2024 for a joint annual meeting. Since we would like to have something for NEJBA separate from convention please join us for our meeting and lunch on 3/2/2024.
We are currently working with Julie at MJCC to secure a venue. As soon as these details are available we will reach out. RSVP will be needed to be paid to MJCC as they are coordinating the meal plans

2024 National Convention
June 19-22, 2024
National Convention planning has been full speed ahead! We are excited to highlight our New Englanders and our Jersey cattle in the National spotlight! Here is our schedule and some places we are excited to visit and tour. Registration fees will be available for early bird fees shortly into 2024 for you to plan your trip.
If you are interested in assisting with any aspect of the convention, please reach out to Moira Poitras at mpoitras@charter.net or Julie Jacque at lazywilow@gmail.com - these are our Co-Chairs for the event.
If you know of any sponsors we should reach, let us know! Also, we are working on gathering items for welcome bags. If you know of any items from your farm business, local companies, or to represent your state, please send information to Toni Jacque at tajacque16@gmail.com

New England Jersey Breeders Youth Production Contest
We invite all Jersey youth involved with NEJBA to participate in the Youth Production Contest! The awards will be given out at the NEJBA Annual Meeting on March 2,2024 .

You must be 20 years old or younger as of January 1, 2024.

You must own a Registered Jersey
-
You must reside in New England or NY. Your cow must also reside in New England or NY.

Your Registered Jersey must have completed an official lactation between 1/1/23 and 12/31/23.

Your ownership of the animal must be previous to the start of the lactation.
Send your name, your birth date, your cow’s registration number and a copy of her official DHI individual cow page with completed lactation to: Suzanne Buell

Deadline for entries is February 1, 2024
Entries are ranked on Standardized yield that factors ME milk, fat and protein. If you have more than one cow and are not sure which one will have the higher standard yield you may send in multiple entries and Suzanne will pick the highest-ranking one for the contest.
Any applicants interested in a New England Jersey Princess contest please forward your information to Julie Jacque – (413)687-4883, email: lazywilow@gmail.com. We would love to have New England representation at our regional and national levels! This program is meant for young Jersey enthusiasts to network with others within the industry.

We have some exciting events coming up for 2024. Here is the following information:
March 16, 2024 at Eastern States Expo- MA 4H Blue Ribbon Sale
April 15-20, 2024- Northeast All Breeds Spring Show:
April 17: Youth day- all kids welcome! Judging clinic and contest, showmanship (borrow an animal if you like!) and Q&A Session and dinner sponsored by ABS St Jacobs
April 17 7pm: the 1st Northeast Spring Spectacular Sale (some animals can be viewed at the show some will be absent- all animals will be sold online)
April 20: Northeast Spring National Jersey Show
June 19-22: National Convention in Springfield MA
